Running a HGER wheel strategy lets you generate consistent premium income on Harbor Commodity All-Weather Strategy ETF while setting your own entry and exit prices on the underlying. Harbor Commodity All-Weather Strategy ETF's wheel combines cash-secured puts and covered calls into a repeatable cycle: sell puts at strikes where you'd be happy to own HGER, and if assigned, sell calls at strikes where you'd be happy to sell. Use our scanner to find the best HGER wheel strategy setups in real time.

The wheel works best on liquid, high-quality names with stable fundamentals and active options markets — exactly the profile many large-cap leaders fit. The mechanics are simple: sell a cash-secured put on HGER, collect premium, and either keep the premium if it expires worthless or take assignment at a discount to current price. Once assigned, sell covered calls against the shares to keep collecting premium until they're called away. Choosing the right strikes, expirations, and IV environment is what separates a profitable HGER wheel from a losing one.

HGER attempts to diversify efficiently across commodities to target the most sensitive to US-CPI. Selection begins with the 24 most liquid commodity futures, scored for economic significance and quality, considering open interest, holding and trading costs, and inflation sensitivity. The index holds at least 15 commodity futures with weights ranging 2-20%, except gold which can have up to 40% weight. A proprietary scarcity debasement indicator determines the type of inflationary environment, to which the allocation to gold is adjusted accordingly. The index is reconstituted and rebalanced quarterly.

Index calculation is based on total return, which includes the futures returns plus returns from managing the funds cash collateral. The fund invests using excess return swaps through a wholly owned Cayman Islands subsidiary, avoiding K-1 tax forms. Before March 6, 2023, the fund traded as the Harbor All-Weather Inflation Focus ETF and tracked the Harbor Inflation Index.

The difference between a wheel that compounds and one that bleeds comes down to strike selection, IV timing, and discipline on assignment. Our scanner handles the heavy lifting: it ranks every leg of the HGER wheel strategy by delta, premium yield, IV rank, and days to expiration, so you can deploy capital where the math works. Build your HGER wheel strategy on data, not gut feel — and let the options wheel do what it does best: pay you to wait.
