Monitoring PGX open interest helps you see where real money is positioned on Invesco Preferred ETF's options and which strikes are attracting the most commitment from traders. Invesco Preferred ETF's open interest reflects the total number of outstanding contracts that have not been closed or exercised, making it a powerful gauge of liquidity, conviction, and potential support and resistance zones. Use our scanner to monitor PGX options open interest in real time and find the strikes that matter.
Open interest is distinct from volume: volume counts how many contracts are traded in a session, while open interest counts how many remain open at the end of the day. Rising PGX options open interest alongside rising volume suggests new positions are being built, while falling open interest signals positions are being closed. Heavy open interest at specific strikes often acts as a magnet near expiration and can hint at where dealers and large traders expect Invesco Preferred ETF to settle.
The Invesco Preferred ETF (Fund) is based on the ICE BofAML Core Plus Fixed Rate Preferred Securities Index (Index). The Fund will normally invest at least 80% of its total assets in fixed rate US dollar-denominated preferred securities that comprise the Index. The Index tracks the performance of fixed rate US dollar-denominated preferred securities issued in the US domestic market. (Securities must be rated at least B3, based on an average of three leading ratings agencies: Moody’s, S&P and Fitch) and must have an investment-grade country risk profile (based on an average of Moody’s, S&P and Fitch foreign currency long-term sovereign debt ratings).
The Fund does not purchase all of the securities in the Index; instead, the Fund utilizes a "sampling" methodology to seek to achieve its investment objective. The Fund and the Index are rebalanced and reconstituted on a monthly basis.
