Open interest is distinct from volume: volume counts how many contracts are traded in a session, while open interest counts how many remain open at the end of the day. Rising RSPU options open interest alongside rising volume suggests new positions are being built, while falling open interest signals positions are being closed. Heavy open interest at specific strikes often acts as a magnet near expiration and can hint at where dealers and large traders expect Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight Utilities ETF to settle.
The Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight Utilities ETF (Fund) is based on the S&P 500 Equal Weight Utilities Plus Index (Index). The Fund will invest at least 90% of its total assets in securities that comprise the Index. The Index equally weights the common stocks of all companies included in the S&P 500 Index that are classified as members of the utilities sector, as defined according to the Global Industry Classification Standard ("GICS"). The Fund and the Index are rebalanced quarterly.
